You want to trust that the management isn't taking advantage of you as a customer.

Newsweek and Statista interviewed 25,000 consumers to determine the most trustworthy U.S. companies. 3,100 significant companies, including automakers, banks, and food and beverage firms

Publix, situated in Florida, topped the list of 33 grocery and convenience retailers.

"Pub Subs" is one of America's fastest-growing groceries, launching 25 new stores in 2022 and many more in the future, including its first Kentucky branch. 

The employee-owned supermarket company, noted for its bakery, meat department, and high-quality store-brand items

also scores excellent grades for its positive workplace culture, which may have contributed to its survey success. (Newsweek's reliable poll evaluated employee, customer, and investor viewpoints.)

Cincinnati-based Kroger Co. and Idaho-based WinCo Foods placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Harris Teeter, H-E-B, Brookshire's Food&Pharmacy, and Fresh Market also made the Top 10.

Amazon scored first in general retail, Costco ranked fifth, and Walmart placed 25th.Amazon-owned Whole Foods Market made the food and beverage list but not grocery. 

The organic supermarket chain placed sixth, behind Quaker Oats, Hershey, Kellogg, Campbell Soup Co., and Gordon Food Service.
